The All England Lawn and Tennis Club (AELTC) has announced Emirates as the new official airline partner to Wimbledon.
The multi-year deal sees the UAE flag carrier partner with the iconic tennis tournament for the first time.
Under the terms of the agreement, the airline will benefit from on-court branding across Centre Court and Court 1, visibility spanning Wimbledon’s digital and social platforms, and several on-site activations.
The two organisations will also launch a ‘Force for Good’ fund as part of a ‘shared commitment to supporting social impact initiatives across the country.’
Emirates is now an official sponsor of all four grand slam tennis tournaments, having previously signed deals with the US Open, French Open, and Australian Open in 2012, 2013 and 2015 respectively.
Sir Tim Clark, Emirates President, said, “From hard court to grass court– we’re proud to be growing our presence in the world of tennis. Wimbledon is a major sporting event viewed by millions around the world, and we’re delighted to be associated with such a well-respected brand.
“Emirates has always been a supporter of tennis and as a sponsor of all four Grand Slams – our commitment to the sport is as staunch as ever.”
AELTC Chair, Deborah Jevans, added, “We have received record levels of interest from the UK and around the world in attending the championships this year, and support from official partners like Emirates helps us maintain the event at the pinnacle of sport for both players and fans.”
An established name in the UK sports sponsorship sector, Emirates’ partnership portfolio includes Arsenal, the FA Cup, Lancashire Cricket Club and the Great Britain SailGP team.
Emirates also has a longstanding pact with the ATP Tour, which dates back to 2013. The airline was later upgraded to a premier partner of the global men’s tennis circuit in 2016.
