FORMULA E LOCKS IN EUROPEAN BROADCASTERS

Motorsport News

Formula E has extended its free-to-air broadcast partnerships in Italy, France, and Germany.

The extension with Italian commercial broadcaster Mediaset will see all races available on the channel’s online platform.

Additionally, six races will be air live on Italia Uno with the remaining races in the 17 race-season broadcasting on Canal20.

In France, London-headquartered Formula E has renewed with L’Equipe, with all 17 races appearing on the free-to-air broadcaster.

The all-electric motor racing series has also announced a new strategic multi-year media partnership with Red Bull Media House, DF1 and Servus TV that will deliver all Formula E races live in Germany and Austria.

This means that races will be available free-to-air in the region on DF1, the new free-to-air channel in Germany launching on 1st January 2024, replacing ServusTV Deutschland.

Aarti Dabas, Chief Media Officer, Formula E, said, “This exciting new partnership with Red Bull Media House, ServusTV, and DF1 marks a significant milestone in bringing Formula E’s racing to Germany and Austria – a region with a deep-rooted passion for motorsport.

“As we gear up for our most dynamic season yet, including a double-header race in Berlin, fans in these key markets will have access to more live race programming than ever before through free-to-air channels.”

The deals come a month after TNT Sports was named as the new official broadcaster of Formula E in the UK and Ireland. The broadcast rights agreement will officially kick off in the new year with live coverage of Season 10 and the first race in Mexico City on Saturday 13th January.
