UK ATHLETICS ANNOUNCE DAME DENISE LEWIS AS PRESIDENT

Dame Denise Lewis has been elected as President of UK Athletics.


The former heptathlon champion takes over from Jason Gardener who held the role since 2015. 

The 51-year-old won gold in the 2000 Sydney Olympics after finishing third in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Game and has experience at President level with the Commonwealth Games.

Lewis also received a damehood in June for her services to sport. 

Hannah England, a former 1500m silver medallist, has also been named as Vice President of the organisation.
