Sports streaming platform DAZN has secured global broadcasting rights to the inaugural World Masters of Snooker in Riyadh.
In the UK and Ireland, coverage will also be available on Discovery-owned Eurosport, the Eurosport app, and on the Discovery+ streaming service.
World Snooker Tour Chairman Steve Dawson said, “We are delighted to give all fans across the world the chance to watch this event with extensive live coverage with our many broadcast partners including DAZN and Eurosport.
“This is an exciting new event and this will be enhanced by innovative production and presentation. It will be three days of fabulous viewing for the fans as the world’s best compete for a new trophy.”
The first edition of the World Masters of Snooker got underway on Monday 4th March, and is being staged in Riyadh, through a ten-year hosting rights agreement between the World Snooker Tour (WST) and the Ministry of Sport for Saudi Arabia.
The newly launched event is played under WST rules, but also features a new 23rd ball titled the Riyadh Season golden ball, which is worth 20 points and must be potted last.
As the global broadcaster of The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh season, DAZN has also broadcast a range of boxing bouts in the region, featuring fighters such as Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder.
