To celebrate the launch of the adidas’ new X Speedportal boots, adidas has floated six-metre high cartoon footballers across the capital.

On Thursday 11th August, in London, Liverpool FC forward Mo Salah and Dutch star Vivianne Miedema were transformed in hot balloon-like figures and moved across the city.

The heads, which were created utilising the animations of both players from their appearance in the recent adidas x rick and morty advert, were then positioned at Market Road pitches in Camden.

The campaign is a clear nod to the hit episode in Rick and Morty “Get Schwifty”, where a giant floating head appears in the sky demanding to see earth talents. The floating heads of Salah and Miedema, which are larger than a double decker bus, are demanding to see multidimensional speed from footballers across London.

Players can showcase their multidimensional speed will hear “I like what you got!” from the heads, and they will be rewarded with X-Speedportal boots.

The inflatables were visible throughout the day and its been suggested that they will reappear in future locations.
