SPORT INDUSTRY COMPLETES SPORT TOGETHER FUND 24-HOUR CHALLENGE

Community News

Organisations from across the sport industry, including members of the SIG team, came together on 28th and 29th July and successfully completed the Sport Together Fund 24-Hour Challenge.

With a goal of virtually cycling 1,330 miles – the distance between London and Kyiv – within 24 hours, the finish line was eventually crossed at 9:30 this morning (29th July).

Individuals from nearly 20 organisations – including Bloomsbury Football, M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment, Fifty Digital, Ear to the Ground, Two Circles, Cake, CSM, Right Formula and Thomas Lyte – joined in the challenge, and raised crucial funds for refugees and displaced peoples in the process.

Some highlights from the challenge included…

The team from FEVO Sport Industry Awards official partner Sportradar set an early target for other teams, covering combined 46.3 miles in 30 minutes.

SIG Managing Director, Dylan Pugh, treated the Benchmark office to a beautiful rendition of Tom Jones during his 30-minute stint. If only he put as much effort into his cycling!

The crew from Cake put in a serious shift to finish the (working) day, clocking up a combined 46.7 miles, while Archie Patch covered the most ground of any cyclist overall with an incredible 13.1 miles.

Two Circles came close to knocking Cake off top sport, but were short by just 0.1 miles!

At close to midnight, the team crossed the virtual border into Ukraine and, at the same time, entered into a world of pain.

Then, delirium set in.

And at 9:30am, we cycled the last of 1,330 miles and collectively arrived in Kyiv!
