SPORT INDUSTRY NEXTGEN 2023 OFFICIALLY BEGINS

Sport Industry NextGen 2023 has officially kicked off, with the 30 Leaders from this year’s programme meeting for the first time.

Yesterday (26th January), the NextGen 2023 Leaders gathered at the Sport Industry Group offices in Holborn, London, as the year-long leadership package officially began.

To kick off the year, the group was joined by Tom Young, a performance psychologist specialising in team dynamics and leadership, to take them through an extensive workshop that focused on behavioural profiling, building relationships and an examination of high-performance cultures, the values they hold, and lessons from elite sport.

The workshop marked the start of a programme that will focus on the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and social change, and followed the recent announcement of the full line-up of Coaches.

After the 2023 cohort finished their first session, they were given the opportunity to network before heading to 28-50 for this year’s NextGen Alumni Evening.

Attended by a collection of NextGen Leaders from the past eight years of the series, the evening was an opportunity to celebrate the programme itself, the connections built, and the successful careers within the sport industry that have followed.

Sport Industry Group Managing Director, Dylan Pugh, also welcomed two NextGen alumni to the stage. Preeti Sheety, CEO of Upshot and an inaugural 2016 NextGen Leader, and Josh Charalambous, Senior Associate at Sport Industry NextGen Partner RPC and 2021 NextGen Leader. Both spoke about their experiences on the programme and the benefits of building a unique network with some of the industry’s brightest talents.

The 2023 NextGen Leaders will now look forward to their next session in the coming weeks.
