Betway has announced a partnership with the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) to title sponsor the World Cup of Darts in 2016.
The agreement will see the tournament renamed as the Betway World Cup of Darts and continues the online bookmaker’s support of darts with the Betway Premier League Darts.
The tournament will feature 32 nations, each will have a two-player team in a pairs format. The 2015 edition was won by England, who were represented by Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor and Adrian ‘Jackpot’ Lewis.
“Our sponsorship of the Betway Premier League Darts has been immensely successful for the past two years, and we’re strengthening our relationship with the PDC here,” said Betway’s Anthony Werkman.
“I’m certain that the Betway World Cup of Darts will be yet another fantastic showcase for the sport. We can’t wait to bring darts fans closer to that action in Frankfurt.”
PDC chairman Barry Hearn added: “We’re delighted that Betway have furthered their support of the PDC’s leading championships through their sponsorship.”
