ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) has announced the acquisition of global esports technology and infrastructure company Vindex.
The acquisition strengthens EFG´s global business portfolio, which already boasts leading video game entertainment brands ESL, FACEIT and DreamHack.
In a statement, London-based EFG and Vindex said that the new acquisition will ‘leverage their collective industry-leading talent, expertise and complementary technology stacks to drive innovation for publishers, brands and video game communities around the world.’

New York-based Vindex’s has a portfolio of esports infrastructure companies that offers end-to-end solutions to serve the video games industry.
This includes Esports Engine – a company that produces video game, esports and creator-driven content across broadcast, physical and metaverse events – and Vindex Intelligence Platform, which provides brands, publishers and creators with omnichannel consumer data and analytics.

Mike Sepso will continue to serve as CEO and Sundance DiGiovanni as Chief Strategy Officer at Vindex while taking on leadership roles within EFG.
The transaction closed on 17th February 2023, however, financial terms were not disclosed.
Goldman Sachs acted as exclusive financial advisor to ESL FACEIT Group and Savvy Games, the parent company of ESL FACEIT Group, on the transaction with Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC acting as financial advisor to Vindex LLC.
