McLaren Racing has renewed its partnership with Google for the 2024 Formula 1 season.
The tech giant will remain as an official primary partner of McLaren’s Formula 1 team, as well as an official partner of its Extreme E outfit.
The expanded agreement will include a greater focus on Google Pixel smartphones, which will receive increased brand visibility over the duration of the new contract.
Google’s Chrome, Android and Pixel products will all feature on McLaren’s Formula 1 2024 car, and on the uniforms of drivers Lando Norris and Oscasr Piastri, and pit crew.
In addition to prominent brand visibility, Google will continue to supply McLaren with Android devices, which will ‘support the team’s performance both on and off the track, and the McLaren Technology Centre.’
In Extreme E, Google Pixel branding will continue to feature on the team’s race car, and race suits of the all-electric off-road motor racing series drivers Cristina Gutiérrez and Mattias Ekström.
Nick Drake, Vice President, Global Marketing, Google, said, “McLaren deeply values innovation, performance, and inclusion — values that resonate deeply with Google.
“By seamlessly integrating the best of Google services, like our ground breaking AI platforms, Android, Chrome, Google Cloud and Google Pixel, across their teams in the office and in pit lane, we believe these tools will help take McLaren’s race day performance to new heights this season at every level of racing.”
Surrey-based McLaren Racing first partnered with Google in 2022, in a deal that included Android and Google Chrome promotion.
In the buildup to the 2024 Formula 1 season, which gets underway with the Bahrain Grand Prix on 2nd March, McLaren has recently extended its partnerships with Hilton and DP World.
