SHORTS: WIGAN WARRIORS, GFINITY, NSE

Super League side Wigan Warriors has announced a new partnership with Riverside Plumbing Supplies Limited. 

The initial two-year deal sees the logo of the local plumbing supplies company feature on the front of the Club’s first team training wear in 2023 and 2024. 

The plumbing company is owned by Warriors fans Mike Norton and Andy Moss. 

Geoff Warbuton, Wigan Warriors Sales Director, said, “It is great to welcome Riverside Plumbing Supplies to our partnership stable from 2023 and to be in at the very beginning of their public launch right here in Wigan.

“Their logo will be emblazoned on all our first team players’ training shirt fronts along with LED at the DW Stadium on match days and of course the guys will be bringing along clients to our famed hospitality at home fixtures.”

Mike Norton, Riverside Plumbing Owner and Supplies Director, added, “We are delighted to partner with Wigan Warriors and looking forward to the partnership growing from strength to strength throughout the next two years.”


Gfinity has announced an extension with long-running partner Red Bull.

The expanded agreement sees the Esports and gaming solutions provider serving as the production partner for the third edition of Red Bull Home Ground, an invitational Valorant tournament that is due to be held at Victoria Warehouse in Manchester, between 9th and 11th December 2022.

Under terms of the deal, Gfinity will provide production services to broadcast the live event, in addition to outside broadcasting TV facilities and infrastructure. 

Furthermore, the pair have partnered up for the ideation and delivery of a comprehensive pre-event content plan to promote and drive interest in the live event. This includes content shot in the UK and Turkey to be distributed on the Red Bull Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube. 

Red Bull Home Ground, which will be streamed live on Twitch and YouTube, will see eight teams from around the world competing in a map-focused competition.

Rubicon RAW Energy has been announced as the official energy drink of GB Snowsport, the national governing body for snowsports in the UK. 

The four-year deal sees Rubicon RAW sponsor British skiers and snowboarders including elite Para Snowsport athletes and kicks off days after the British team return to the World Cup stage for the start of the 2022-23 season.

York Rugby League Football Club announces Fortus.

The deal will see the advisory and accountancy company become the main shirt partner for the Knights team, as well as partner of the Valkyrie team where the brand will feature on both the shorts and the training kit. 

Craight Herbert, Executive Director at Fortus, said, “We are thrilled to be part of the York RLFC project, like us they are an ambitious and entrepreneurial business that have plans to not only compete at the highest level but to support the local community in York.  This deal represents our continued commitment to the city which has welcomed and supported us since we launched at the start of the pandemic.”

Clint Goodchild, Chairman of York RLFC, added, “This deal is the next step in the club’s journey which started in 2002. When I took over the club I outlined some strong ambitions, one of which was to take the team to the Super League something I stand by.”


NSE (National Student Esports) and game developer 24 Entertainment have joined forces to host the upcoming Nakara: Bladepoint University Invitational

The Nakara: Bladepoint University Invitational is a two-stage invitational tournament split into online and offline play, exclusively for UK university students.

The event will feature 16 university teams invited to battle against one another across three weeks of play. In the third and final week, all teams will face off live in person at HOST’s state-of-the-art facility in Salford on 4thDecember.  

The tournament carries a £5,000 prize pool and will be broadcast on the NSE Twitch channel. 

The first games are due to start on Sunday 20th November with invited universities yet to be named but soon to be announced.
